Who's Teaching This Stuff
Look—we're not celebrity investors or TV personalities. We're regular people who spent years figuring out what works and what doesn't. And honestly, that might be more useful. We remember what it's like to feel lost reading financial news, so we explain things the way we wish someone had explained them to us.
Declan Theriault
Portfolio Strategy
Spent 14 years managing mid-sized portfolios for a Fredericton firm. Now teaches risk assessment the way it should be taught—with real examples, not theoretical perfect scenarios.
Arvid Lachapelle
Market Analysis
Former financial analyst who got tired of overcomplicated explanations. Breaks down market trends into language that doesn't require a finance degree to understand.
Bryn Noseworthy
Tax Strategy
Worked in Canadian tax planning for 11 years. Makes TFSA and RRSP decisions feel less like guesswork and more like informed choices you can actually explain to your spouse.
How the Next Few Months Look
Our fall 2025 cohort starts September 8th. Here's the realistic timeline—no magic transformations, just steady progress.
Weeks 1-3: Foundation Building
We start with the basics you actually need. What different investment types mean, how Canadian markets work, and why certain terms matter. No rush—just getting everyone on the same page.
Weeks 4-7: Understanding Risk
This is where people usually have their "aha" moments. We look at real scenarios—market downturns from 2020, recovery patterns, and how different strategies would've played out. You'll learn to spot red flags before committing money.
Weeks 8-10: Portfolio Planning
Now you build your own investment plan. Not with real money yet—we use simulations that mirror actual market conditions. You'll make mistakes here. That's the point. Better to learn what doesn't work in a classroom than with your retirement savings.
Weeks 11-12: Long-Term Strategy
Final sessions focus on maintaining what you've built. How to review your approach quarterly, when to adjust (and when to leave things alone), and building habits that keep you informed without obsessing over daily market swings.
